Articles >> When to stop Testing? |
Testing is a continuous process, and we can never say that we have removed all the bugs. Its looks like impossible. But here one question arises: when we have to stop testing and ship the product?
Logically testing is swap over between funds, time and quality which is derived from profit models. Stop testing when we meet the major part of requirement not when we have faced any problem in allocated resources like time, budget etc. unfortunately which happens mostly. For software estimation, reliability model is used. Estimation of software depends on the following cycle: failure data gathering -- modeling -- prediction. This method does not fit well for ultra-dependable systems, however, because the real field failure data will take too long to accumulate. |
