With out the automation of software testing process properly, it can be very costly. Generally the problem arises with software testing tools and techniques as they do not have a common applicability and scalability. Automation requires the following ways:

Generate oracles from the requirement.

Generate test cases to test the target software against the oracles in order to ensure their validation.

Intrusion of humans at a large level is essential for testing.

To excel out of the current automation level being restricted to automated test script level.

Less problem is faced in reliability testing and performance testing. Simple requirement and oracle does not crash or hang during robustness testing. Such metrics can also be utilized in stress testing for simplicity.
