Real World Mapping

Most classes and the objects derived form them are programmatic objects with no absolute one-to-one correspondence to real world objects. Some OO based CAD packages also provide a 3-D visual interface with articulated elements and variable viewpoints; stresses, velocities and accelerations can also be output in real time.  In these cases it does get very difficult to argue that code does not correspond with the real world on a one-to-one basis. But don’t be fooled – it is under circumstances like this that the most bizarre bugs can occur. As someone once said “Reality is a cousin twice removed!”
